Before travelling to the United States, the Cape Verde National Football Team began its final preparations with a training tour across several Cape Verdean islands between 20 and 24 May.
The Blue Sharks then travelled to Portugal, where they played an international friendly against Serbia on 31 May at Lisbon's historic Estádio do Restelo. The match provided valuable preparation ahead of the FIFA World Cup.
Following the Portugal training camp, the Cape Verde National Football Team travelled to the United States and completed its preparations with a final friendly against Bermuda in Connecticut before the tournament officially began.
